AlgeriaNews uses Google Analytics to understand readership and improve the publication. Analytics is optional. The Google Analytics script does not load until you select “Accept analytics.”
What may be measured
If you consent, Google Analytics may record pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, session activity, and referral information. AlgeriaNews has disabled Google signals and advertising-personalisation signals in its site configuration.
Your choice
You may accept or reject analytics without losing access to the site. Your selection is stored in your browser so that the site can remember it. Use the “Privacy choices” button at the bottom of any page to change your selection. Rejecting analytics also asks the site to remove its Google Analytics cookies from the current host.
Reader comments
When you submit a comment, AlgeriaNews stores your display name, comment, email address and submission time. The email address remains private and is used only for verification, abuse prevention and moderation. Public comments never display the email address.
Unverified submissions are removed after 24 hours. Private verification records, including email addresses, are removed 30 days after verification. Rejected comments are retained for 90 days for moderation and abuse-review purposes. Approved public comments remain available unless AlgeriaNews removes them for an editorial, legal or privacy reason.
Digest email
When digest signup is available, it is a separate, optional choice from any contribution to AlgeriaNews. If you sign up, you provide an email address, choose English or Arabic, and confirm that choice through a double opt-in email. Your address is added to the selected language list only after you confirm. Supporter status or payment information is not used to subscribe you.
Brevo processes digest signup and sends the confirmation email. Digest campaigns are sent through Brevo and include its unsubscribe link. Using that link updates your subscription with the email provider. You may also contact AlgeriaNews through the contact page to request access to or deletion of your digest details.
Reporting a published comment
Readers may report a published comment for spam, abuse, privacy, potentially misleading claims or another concern. AlgeriaNews stores the report and a pseudonymous anti-abuse identifier derived from network information. The underlying network address is not stored in the report record.
Service providers
Analytics uses Google Analytics. Comments use Supabase for storage, Resend for verification email and Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse prevention. Digest signup and campaigns use Brevo. Each provider’s privacy and data-transfer terms also apply to its service.
