Our purpose
We publish reporting, analysis and opinion designed to help readers understand events in Algeria and the international developments that affect it. News importance—not nationality alone—determines editorial prominence.
Our normal voice is calm, precise and accessible. We reject clickbait, sensationalism and the artificial addition of an Algerian angle where none is journalistically relevant.
Two editorial editions
English is the default international edition. The Arabic edition uses contemporary Modern Standard Arabic. Each edition may publish independently when editorial circumstances require it; a translation is not treated as a substitute for proper editing.
Independence and funding
Editorial decisions are not determined by political, governmental, commercial, religious, ethnic, regional or ideological pressure.
AlgeriaNews is developing a mixed funding model that may include reader support and clearly separated advertising. Financial support never purchases editorial influence, preferential moderation or access to private reader information.
Accountability
Accuracy comes before speed. We distinguish verified facts, allegations, analysis and opinion, and we correct material errors transparently. Readers may contact us about corrections, privacy, advertising or other concerns.
